Alexia Ioannides
HER Story
Brief Explanation of My Role
I will be presenting on Reparenting from the Loving Parent Workbook within the 12-step program of Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunctional Families. My session will cover the four components of completing a Reparenting Check-In, after which I will guide the group through an experiential exercise using the check-in. Participants will then break into dyads and use the Imago dialogue to reflect on and discuss their experience with the guided exercise. Finally, we will reconvene as a group to share individual insights and experiences. As a facilitator, I may also incorporate a dance movement therapy icebreaker, time permitting and with approval from Midge and Eileen.
3. Educational Credentials
I hold two Master’s degrees—one in Counseling Psychology and the other in Dance Movement Therapy. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, a Florida State-Approved Supervisor, a Registered Dance Movement Therapist (nationwide), and EMDR Level One and Two trained.
